California is so popular, in fact, according to the Public Policy Institute of California, one in every eight U.S citizens reside here. What’s not to love about California? They don’t call it the Golden State for no reason. It’s been a symbol of prosperity and hope since its establishment, offering endless possibilities to its visitors. Here are five places to visit in California on your next trip to experience some of the best that Cali has to offer.
1. San Diego
Few places in the world can live up to the “perfect getaway” that San Diego has to offer. With year-round weather that most would only dream of, beautiful beaches, amazing food and culture, and endless entertainment – how can you go wrong? If beaches and shopping are what you are into, head over to La Jolla for an experience of a lifetime. You can choose from a variety of popular dining and shopping or soak up some sun at the beach – though you might have to share your space with the local seals. Looking for entertainment? San Diego has plenty to offer – from the San Diego Zoo (which many consider being one of the best in the U.S) to Balboa Park with numerous museums and activities to explore.
2. Yosemite National Park
The national park is by far one of the best places to visit in California. The majestic park is known for its beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking views. Home to some of the oldest and most vast living trees, Yosemite Falls, and vineyards, you won run out of things to do here. Camping, fishing, and hiking will consume your days and bonfires by night.
3. Los Angeles
You can’t visit Califonia without taking a trip to the city of angels. Los Angeles is known for its prestige beaches and Hollywood-like experience. Take a stroll through Beverly Hills and check out how the celebrities live or check out downtown and all it has to offer. Be sure to take full advantage of all the day trips around LA to get the whole experience – beaches, nature, and the fine side of things.
4. The Bay Area
If you are going to visit California, you have to see the golden gate bridge. It should be on everyone’s bucket list. The impressive view will take your breath away, especially on days when the fog is rolling through. From there, you have to check out the world-famous picture-perfect Lombard St. You can also check out the mission district for a one-stop-shop and dine experience.
5. Santa Cruz
Located just south of San Jose, this beach town showcases some of the best that Cali has to offer. However, it isn’t just beaches here – you can also visit state parks, check out the wineries, farmers’ markets, and museums. There are plenty of outdoor activities like biking, hiking, and surfing to choose from.
